Project Planning and Management
  • Project Development
    • Facilitates initial meeting with the Client
    • Define scopes and task requirements
    • Prepare proposals and recommend project fees
    • Coordinate sub-consultants.
    • Coordinate with other design professionals
  • Project Initiation
    • Define project tasks and schedule.
    • Lead or attend project kickoff meetings.
      • Review milestones.
      • Maintain schedule.
  • Project Execution
    • Schedule team to ensure work flow and projects meet deadlines.
    • Define project expectations through:
      • Task initiation
      • Design / Project approach
      • City Regulations
      • Project completion criteria
      • Identifying design / project issues.
    • Document changes in scope and schedule.
    • Document communications with clients, consultants, and municipalities.
    • Plan team meetings with internal staff, consultants, and municipalities.
    • Responsible for plan correctness and plan submittals.
  • Project Evaluation
    • Quality Assurance
      • Ensure plans adhere to mma standards and client/municipal requirements.
      • Conduct quality control plan review meetings.
    • Project Budgets
    • Monitor budget expenditures
    • Track work progress vs. time spent
    • Invoicing to client
  • Production:
    • Prepare, coordinate and review development/construction plans.
  • New and Potential Client Relations
    • Business Development
      • Assist engineering director with business development leads.
      • Attend outside events to generate job leads.
  • Client Interaction
    • Provide client updates.
  • Public Relations
    • Present at public, neighborhood, and city staff meetings.
    • Prepare speeches for public meetings.
    • Present at public meetings.
    • Present at neighborhood meetings.
    • Represent client at city staff meetings.
Job Requirements
  • High level of understanding of planning and engineering disciplines. 
  • Understand the development market and city/county political atmosphere and how they relate to specific projects.
  • Possess the ability to manage all aspects of a project to ensure proper engineering principals are implemented and all contractual and ethical obligations are met.
  • Knowledge of the abilities of Civil 3D design software
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or 5 to 8 years of progressive professional experience 
  • PE Licensing is preferred
